WORSHIP QUESTIONS ANSWERED

1) Should I bring my Bible?

We currently use the NRSV version of the Bible, and the week's Scripture is printed on the bulletin, as well as on the online bulletin. There are KJV and NIV Bibles in the pews as well. And...you are more than welcome to bring your own!

2) If I am attending online, where do I find the bulletin?

You may click here to send an e-mail asking to be
placed on the mailing list. You may request to receive
 t
he bulletin as well as the weekly (or so) Tabernacle
 Chimes newsletter and PrayerNet.

3) Am I expected to contribute a monetary offering during
    worship?

As a visitor, certainly a contribution is not expected,
 but would b
e gratefully accepted. During COVID, there
is a box at the door
for offerings to God for the work of
His church in Hope, RI, and f
or mission work beyond our
 doors.
Members often use offering envelopes.
If worshipping online, you may send contributions to
 Tabernacle
Baptist Church, P.O. Box 67, Hope RI 02831.
We are working on an online giving platform.

4) Does the church provide child care?

The church is VERY child-friendly. Customarily both
 child care and
Sunday School classes are available
 during the church service.
Children often take part in
worship. Due to COVID, we have not
yet resumed
Sunday School. Child care will be available, but if y
ou are
more comfortable keeping your child with you, activities

will be provided for the child and everyone will be happy
 to have
your child join us!

5) When and how is communion celebrated?

Each first Sunday of the month (as well as on Maundy
 Thursday
before Easter), communion is celebrated.
During COVID, we have been using prepackaged
elements which are available as you e
nter the church.
If worshiping online, please provide your own

 elements.

6) What is the place of music in the service?

We love music, and have an organ and piano in the sanctuary. We are currently using the piano, and during COVID we have 2 hymns and worship songs interspersed throughout the service, as well as occasional vocal and instrumental special music. On the last Sunday of the month we open worship with several worship songs. When we were able, we had a choir which sang regularly. Anyone is welcome to offer his/her musical talents for worship.

7) Is there a coffee hour after the service?

Tabernacle has a coffee hour once a month (the FIRST Sunday of the month) BEFORE the worship service. Our pastor serves another church, which meets after ours.
He would be unable to be at a coffee hour after church, and we want him to be with us, so we have ours at 8:30 a.m.

Tabernacle Baptist Church ~ 182 Seven Mile Road, PO Box 67, Hope RI 02831 ~ tbcofhope@gmail.com
